Tondulu and Sunsuron make winning starts

TAMBUNAN: Tondulu FC defeated SSD FC 6-1 while Sunsuron FC downed GSH FC 3-2 in the opening matches of the Tambunan 7’s Lintuhun Premier League (T7LPL) Series 1/2024 on March 30.

Organising Chairman Marcelus Jonnes, who is also the President of both the Tondulu Football Club (TFC) and the Tambunan Royal Football Club (TRFC), officiated the tournament at the Kg Tondulu Mini Stadium Football Field here.

He welcomed all the competing teams and called for players to show the best sportsmanship and discipline.

Marcelus, who also serves as the Assistant District Officer of Ranau (Development), said the purpose of the tournament is to strengthen harmony and unity among the players and to foster an active, healthy community with a strong sports culture.

Read more Twelve football teams are participating in the tournament where the champions will receive RM3,338 in cash, a trophy and medals while the runners-up will be awarded RM2,228, a trophy and medals.

The third-place and fourth-place teams will receive RM1,118 and RM888 respectively, as well as a trophy and medals.

Additionally, there are extra prizes for the top scorer, best player, best goalkeeper, best referee, and best team manager, each of whom will receive RM238 and a trophy.

The tournament runs as a league, taking place exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays, and will conclude in May.
