Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos says joining the Spanish giants was the best decision of his life.
The German was speaking to the OMR podcast.
Kroos said, "It's the best I could do, and it was a big step in sport and in my private life, I was 24 years old and had a son, I did not speak the language.
"You arrive at the biggest club in the world and you have to function almost immediately. You have to organise your life and at the same time be fully present from the first day on the field, as if you had been there for ten years. Thank God it worked well."
Kroos also of his closeness to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
He continued: “I am very close to him, he is a person with a good heart. From the first day he gave me the feeling that he was happy that I came to his club, which is unusual for the size of an entity like Real Madrid."
