Chelsea management are excited by the progress of Landon Emenalo.
Emenalo, a 16 year-old midfielder, is the son of former Blues technical director Michael Emenalo, who is now the Saudi Pro League head of recruitment.
The London Evening Standard says Emenalo trained with the senior squad last week and is expected to soon make his U21 debut.
Chelsea meet Colchester in the U21 Premier League Cup tonight.
Emenalo is a USA youth international and also qualifies for Nigeria. He can play anywhere across midfield and also at left-back.
