- The 83-year-old musician initially planned to retire after completing his “Great Farewell Tour” in May next year, but he has since secured three additional years of bookings.
- Christie shared the medical advice during an appearance for Music For Dementia, a charity he serves as an ambassador for, to mark the expansion of its 24-hour station m4dRADIO onto DAB in south and west London.
- During the event, Christie performed his signature 1971 track “(Is This The Way To) Amarillo”, which was written for him by Neil Sedaka, noting that music helps people with dementia stay connected to who they are.
- Operating 24 hours a day online and on DAB, m4dRADIO aims to support individuals living with dementia and their carers through the power of music.
