PENAMPANG: The State and Federal Governments need to collaborate to ensure the smooth implementation of development programes especially involving the Ministry of Health (MoH) in this state.

Community Development and People’s Well-being Minister (KPMKR), Datuk James Ratib said that the move is important because there are many Clinics that are delayed or experiencing delays.

“We see that many of these MoH projects have been delayed, and some for up to 10 years.

“When we looked at the reason why it was delayed we found that there was a slight technical problem.

James, who is also Sugut Assemblyman said this when inaugurating the 15th Public Health Colloquium for 2023 at the International Technology & Commercial Center (ITCC), Penampang.

He hoped that the problems related to the development of MoH in Sabah can be overcome because health facilities, especially clinics, are very necessary, not only in urban areas, but also in rural areas.

Meanwhile, as the Sabah State Health Exco, he congratulated the Sabah State Health Department for their solid efforts and commitment in strengthening the delivery of quality health services in the state.

“It is my hope and that of the KPMKR that this kind of noble effort continues to increase the awareness and health literacy of the people of Sabah so that they are more aware of aspects of health care,” he said.
