Kota Kinabalu: The distinct culture and interesting dance of the Toraja community in Sabah is a plus in promoting the State as a tourism centre in the region, according to Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew.
She said the Toraja community is a minority in Sabah that had contributed to numerous professions such as teachers, doctors, security forces, engineers, and even agriculture, adding significantly to Sabah’s vegetable supply.
She said this when officiating at the Persatuan Keturunan Toraja Sabah ceremony at the Penampang Cultural Centre, recently.
