Toto will mark five decades as a band with a run of UK arena shows in June 2027.
The American rock group will play five cities, with dates in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and London. US musician Todd Rundgren will join them as a special guest on the tour.
The band, best known for their smash hit Africa, will take to the stage at the Ovo Hydro in Glasgow on June 19. From there they head to Manchester on June 20, Birmingham on June 22 and Cardiff on June 24, before finishing at the Ovo Wembley Arena in London on June 25.
Tickets go on general sale on October 23 at 10 am, following an artist presale on October 21.
The line-up features Steve Lukather on guitar, the sole continuous founding member of the band, and Joseph Williams on vocals.
They are joined by Warren Ham, John Pierce, Keith Carlock, Dennis Atlas and Rai Thistlethwayte. Lukather said: “From the earliest stages of our career, the UK has supported Toto. There is a mutual affection between us and the entire country.
“I can’t wait to bring them great shows featuring Joe, myself and a band comprised of world-class musicians. It’s going to be a great time for everyone in the venues come summer.”
Toto formed in 1977 and released their self-titled debut album the following year.
Their 1982 album Toto IV brought the group new levels of acclaim, earning six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for “Rosanna”.
Their anthem “Africa” has surpassed two billion plays on Spotify, while “Hold The Line”, has exceeded one billion streams.
In 2018, a music venue in Bristol played “Africa” on an endless loop for an entire night to raise funds for an African charity.
The bar at The Exchange also played cover versions and remixes of the classic 1980s track. The event raised funds for Temwa, a Bristol-based charity which supports people in remote rural areas of northern Malawi.
Earlier that year, US rock band Weezer released a cover of “Africa” following a relentless fan campaign.
