Tottenham boss Antonio Conte was prickly regarding his team's form in big games this season.

Spurs have a miserable record against the so-called “top six" in the Premier League so far this term.

The London club have lost nearly every one of those games and not won a single one.

During his press conference this week, Conte stated: “What I can say is that usually when you lose the game, it means the opponent showed to be stronger than you. And then it can happen in the game like against Arsenal that their goalkeeper was the best player on the pitch and we lost.

“In my opinion the performance was good and in the game against Crystal Palace we won the game and the performance good. But you know that when there is a loss it's difficult, I don't like to justify, because you lost the game.

“Then you have to stay silent and try to do your best. For sure, we're doing our best. We have to continue to work and recover the best form of the players and continue. For sure, if someone is not happy, I can tell you that we're doing the maximum, we're doing our best. Not 100% but 200%."
