Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has hit out at the World Cup-influenced schedule.

Conte says some of his Tottenham squad suffered injuries in the international break as he criticised the "crazy" schedule players are facing.

When asked what shape his side are in, the Italian said: "Honestly, I don't want to speak about the injury because I don't want to give an advantage to Arsenal.

"But for sure we have to face some problems, some physical problems and we have to know also we have just started to play the first game in a run that we have to play 13 games in 43 days.

"For sure we have to try to make the best solution and not take big risks. If we take big risks and lose players for the rest of the games, it will be a disaster. To play with three games I need to count on the whole squad.

"I have seen that many clubs are having big problems with players that play these two games. Tottenham is one of these clubs. You know very well there is only one month and a half until the start of the World Cup.

"You have to understand also the national team this was the last games to show themselves. For the coach this was the last period before calling their 23 players. To play so many games before the international break and now to play 13 games in 43 days is crazy.

"I always say that in this period you understand which squads are really competitive. Because when you play every three days you face injuries and tired players. This is the moment you realise which are the title contenders and the team competing to play for the Champions League."
