Tottenham boss Ryan Mason admits they struggled to get into the game for their 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa.
Spurs lost via goals for Villa from Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz, with Harry Kane converting from the spot late on.
Mason conceded: "The start wasn't good again going 1-0 down. As the game settled more in the second half I thought we were the team that was creating more naturally. Obviously to concede the second goal and in the manner we did, after missing a big opportunity, it was disappointing.
"It's something we've spoken about. It's happened far too many times. If we want to be a big team, challenging at the top of the table, that can't happen.
"We had a gameplan but we just didn't execute it well enough. We wanted to exploit their high line but we didn't get the timing of our runs right. I thought there was massive opportunities. When we timed our runs better we were creating moments. It's disappointing but we have to pick ourselves up.
"We wanted to win today but it's still in our hands and we need to win the next two games. Hopefully we can do that."
