Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has praised midfielder Yves Bissouma this week.

The former Brighton star looked back to his best in a 2-2 draw against Brentford in Spurs' first league game of the season.

As they prepare to take on Manchester United at home on Saturday, Postecoglou was asked about the impact of a rejuvenated Bissouma.

He told reporters: He was good. Still areas he need to improve and we're pushing, but he was good, and has been all pre-season. But look, it's the same for all the players.

Irrespective of how good your history is, every year gives you the chance for a fresh start and to make an impact, and make your mark, and have that opportunity along with others. Ultimately it's their careers. They're not infinite, they're finite.

There's an end date to them, and every year they don't want to have too many areas where they haven't made the impact they want.

He's had a good energy about him, he trains well. I think the way we play does suit him for sure, but still areas he has to improve. The great thing is this week's he's taken on this week and hopefully will keep developing."
