Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was left angry after their 2-2 draw with Everton.
Richarlison struck twice for Spurs before Jarrad Branthwaite found an injury-time equaliser for the Blues.
Postecoglou later said: "It's obviously never going to be an easy game here. You have to deal with a fair bit but most of the time we handled it OK.
"In the second half we had good chances and we needed the third goal to kill the game off. Unfortunately we couldn't hold out.
"It seems like referees just let things go nowadays and let VAR decide. We're disappointed to concede so late.
"It seems like there's a trend with us that referees aren't prepared to intervene in those kind of situations, we have to accept that.
"The nature of it, conceding so late, doesn't give us the chance to wrestle it back. We just have to accept that."
On Richarlison, he said: "He's been great, Richy. He worked really hard for the team and he is the one who deserves all the credit. There is more to come from him, he's working really hard to improve."
He added: "Pretty disappointed, particularly conceding so late.
"We had chances to kill them off that we didn't take. In the end, they got one late.
"That was the only threat they had, we had to deal with them throwing balls into the box all game.
"[Jordan] Pickford pulled off two or three good saves, we got two but just couldn't get the third."
