Tottenham caretaker Ryan Mason says he's "ready" to take charge against Manchester United tomorrow.

Mason has stepped in after the sacking of interim manager Cristian Stellini following Sunday's 6-1 thrashing at Newcastle.

He said, "It's been relatively easy from my point of view.

"Naturally I feel comfortable and it's part of being involved in football. I have to be ready and I am, I don't doubt that.

"Thursday is a really big game. The focus on my behalf, the staff and the group is to fully prepare for that."

Mason also stated: "Reaction. Absolutely a reaction.

"Sunday was disappointing, so I would hope and expect a reaction from the players and everyone in this building.

"I'm pleased [that fans were reimbursed] because our fans are important to us, we value them and need them.

"The relationship has wavered in recent times but we need them and hopefully they can stick with us."

On how he will approach their clash with United, Mason said: "From a personal point of view, I'm ready for this situation.

"We handled it well two years ago [when he was in charge] but a lot has happened since then.

"We've got six games to try and have a positive little run but I believe in this group and I believe in this football club as well.

"I've been in in football long enough to know how things can change quickly and a result can change a lot.

"Hopefully we can transmit that to the pitch."
