Tottenham fullback Pedro Porro admits his treatment by Manchester City disappointed him.

Porro left Sporting CP in January for Spurs, though spent several years on the books at City without ever making an appearance.

He recalled to the Guardian: My agent told me and I was surprised. I didn't get to train there. You are there, but you are not there.

"It was a sign that I had to grow up, go my way. When I left City for Valladolid it was a slap in the face, because I was very young. City wanted to sign me long-term, but they decided to loan me a year to mature in professional football, at Girona.

"Everything happened fast. The last day they told me that I had to find a way out. Sometimes you go where it's not convenient for you. At Valladolid it cost me more, but you learn from hard years."

On his first weeks with troubled Spurs, Porro added: "No. I don't think 'Where have I ended up?! What have I gotten myself into?!' Not at all. My long-term plan is to play for Tottenham of course. I think of success for the team and I have confidence in myself and in the squad. We can fix it, of course."
