Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou insists managers have a responsibility to protect their players when they get head injuries.

Postecoglou had no issues with losing center half Cristian Romero early in a 2-2 draw against Brentford.

The Argentine center half got a bang to the head after a clash with Bryan Mbeumo of the Bees.

While he did stay on to score the opening goal for his team, he was taken off as the act of scoring with a header meant he had suffered a second blow to his head in quick succession.

Post-game, the Australian coach stated to Sky Sports: I thought it was quite evident, he hurt his head.

We're in an era where we know about these things so I'm not a doctor and anytime that happens I think it's really important that we protect the players.

They don't know themselves what's going on and I had medical advice.

The disappointing thing for me was that we filled in the wrong form for a concussion substitute so in this day and age when we are talking about player care, a piece of paper is not important."
