Foreign visitors from ASEAN nations can now register for the Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet, enabling them to make seamless, cashless payments via QR code at supported merchants throughout Malaysia.

The initiative is open to travellers from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. TNG Digital, the operator of the eWallet service, stated that the expansion is particularly advantageous for local enterprises such as hawker stalls and small vendors, many of which do not accept card payments.

Eligible users can download the TNG eWallet app and top up their balance using credit or debit cards issued by banks in their respective home countries. Notably, a Malaysian mobile number is not required for registration. Instead, verification codes will be delivered via WhatsApp, making the process more accessible to international users.

TNG Digital also revealed that the service will soon extend to non-ASEAN markets, including China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and others, in a further push to support the needs of international tourists.

For detailed instructions on registration, prospective visitors to Malaysia are encouraged to visit the official TNG eWallet website.
