MIRI – Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has retained his post as president of Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) unchallenged.

The Bintulu MP, who is also the federal tourism, arts and culture minister, will remain as party president for the next three years following the no-contest at the party’s triennial delegates conference this morning in Bintulu town.

Tiong is also the Dudong state assemblyman.

David Yeo returns unchallenged as PDP Youth chief while Agnes Jonep is the PDP’s Women chief.

The new secretary-general appointed by the party leadership is Anyie Ngau, who is also MP for Baram in northern Sarawak.

Ngau replaces outgoing secretary-general Datuk Nelson Balang Rining.

The committee will hold their posts for the 2023-2026 term.

PDP is a component party of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

GPS is the ruling coalition in the Sarawak state government and also a partner of the Unity Government in Putrajaya. – The Vibes, June 10, 2023
