SHANGHAI: Consul General of Malaysia in Shanghai, Syed Farizal Aminy bin Syed Mohamad, said the number of tourists from China to Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, has almost doubled since the opening of borders.
“With the resumption of direct scheduled flights to Sabah by China’s major airlines such as China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, we expect a surge in Chinese tourists from this year onwards,” Liew said.
Earlier, the Consul General invited Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Christina Liew to attend the Malaysia Day celebration to be held at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai.
