Footage shows the moment a toy car burst into flames in a family’s back garden in Kent.
Rain water got into the car’s batteries, causing it to short circuit and start driving around.
A fire engine attended the scene and the crew cooled the battery.
Matt Deadman, assistant director for response at Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “Lithium-ion batteries are found in many chargeable items, such as mobile phones, vapes, e-scooters and even toys, and they are usually safe, but if a lithium-ion battery is damaged or stored incorrectly, there’s a chance it could overheat, catch fire, or explode.
“Remember to protect batteries from damage, such as being crushed, punctured, or immersed in water, and if you suspect it’s not in good working order, then do not use it.”
