TOYO TIRES unveils “Buatan Malaysia, Keunggulan Jepun”, bringing Japanese-quality tyres at affordable prices to Malaysians

BANDAR SUNWAY: TOYO TIRES today unveiled its new brand manifesto, “Buatan Malaysia, Keunggulan Jepun”, bringing together the pride of Malaysian manufacturing, the exacting standards of Japanese engineering and a commitment to making Japanese-quality tyres available to Malaysians at affordable prices.

Introduced at Sunway Resort Hotel, the manifesto is more than a campaign line. It is a heartfelt expression of how TOYO TIRES has grown with Malaysia: through the skill and dedication of its people, a deep understanding of local roads and drivers, and a Japanese heritage of innovation spanning more than eight decades.

At the heart of “Buatan Malaysia” is TOYO TIRES’ 100% local factory workforce. Every tyre made here carries the care, pride and contribution of Malaysians from different backgrounds, working together to support local jobs and strengthen the economic growth.

By choosing TOYO TIRES, motorists are not only choosing tyres made for Malaysia; they are supporting Malaysian-made products, Malaysian livelihoods and the shared spirit of “Buatan Malaysia”.

“Keunggulan Jepun” represents the other half of that promise. Founded in Osaka in 1945, TOYO TIRES brings Japanese technology, precision and a commitment to kaizen - continuous improvement - to its Malaysian manufacturing operations. Every tyre reflects the reliability, discipline and attention to detail associated with Japanese quality standards.

This combination supports TOYO TIRES’ role as a trusted Original Equipment partner to leading automotive manufactures. More importantly for every motorist, it enables TOYO TIRES to offer Japanese quality tyres at affordable prices, making safety, reliability and value more accessible to Malaysian families.

“We are the only tyre manufacturer in Malaysia combining the local craftsmanship with Japanese precision to achieve the premium-quality standards” said by Mr. Tan Song Chye, President and Managing Director of Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

“Our Taiping factory is also advancing its Intelligent Manufacturing Transformation (IMX) journey to create a smarter, more efficient and sustainable manufacturing ecosystem. For TOYO TIRES, the future of mobility begins not only with technology, but with people empowered to use it well,”  Mr Mike Toh, President / Managing Director of Toyo Tyre Malaysia  said at the launch.

Alongside the new manifesto, TOYO TIRES launched two digital platforms designed to make every interaction simpler and more connected: T-CARE for consumers and e-TEN for business partners.

For consumers, T-CARE places tyre care and brand engagement at motorists’ fingertips, creating a more convenient and rewarding ownership experience. First-time users who download the T-CARE App will be entitled up to RM40  Touch ’n Go eWallet cashback for use toward their next tyre purchase. They will also enjoy a six-year tyre warranty commencing from the date of purchase, instead of the manufacturing date, offering motorists greater value and added peace of mind.

For dealers, e-TEN offers 24/7 online ordering, faster order processing and improved inventory visibility - practical tools to help partners operate more efficiently, serve customers better and grow with TOYO TIRES.

“A great product deserves a great experience,” said Mr Tan. “We want to continue caring for motorists beyond their tyre purchase, while giving our business partners the tools to grow. Through technology, we can stay connected and closer to those who trust our brand.” However, true success is not measured solely by sales or technology. It is measured by the difference we make in people’s lives. As TOYO TIRES takes this step forward, the company remains grounded in its responsibility to give back to the community that has supported its journey.

Through the “Komuniti PRIHATIN TOYO” initiative, TOYO TIRES is extending a helping hand to three organisations whose work reaches Malaysians when they need it most: the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund, supporting national humanitarian efforts; MyKasih Foundation, supporting food aid and educational bursaries for families and students in need; and the Malaysian Association for the Blind, strengthening inclusion and support for persons with disabilities (PWD).

Guided by the spirit of Malaysia Prihatin, these contributions reflect a belief that progress matters most when it is shared. This is what “Buatan Malaysia, Keunggulan Jepun” truly means: bringing together the best of Malaysian compassion and Japanese excellence to uplift the lives of Malaysians.

In conjunction with Malaysia’s 69th Merdeka celebration, TOYO TIRES is also introducing its Promosi Merdeka  campaign from 1 August to 30 September 2026. Customers who purchase four eligible tyres can receive rewards worth more than RM500, including Touch ’n Go eWallet cashback and an exclusive Thermos item, subject to the campaign’s terms and conditions.

The launch closes on a message that is both national and personal: “Buatan Malaysia, Keunggulan Jepun” celebrates what TOYO TIRES can achieve when local capability, Japanese quality standards and a shared sense of purpose come together. (from delivering Japanese-quality tyres at affordable prices to caring for the communities that keep Malaysia moving)“As Malaysia celebrates Merdeka, we are proud to stand with the nation in unity, progress and prosperity,” Mr Tan added. “This is who we are and what we stand for. Let us drive forward together.”
