UMW Toyota Motor has announced that the newly-launched Toyota Yaris Cross recorded 2,298 bookings nationwide within two weeks of its launch in Malaysia, reflecting early demand for the company’s latest B-segment SUV offering.
Toyota Yaris Cross Starts Strong In Malaysia

The Yaris Cross enters Malaysia’s subcompact crossover SUV segment with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) variants, providing customers with a choice between conventional and electrified powertrains. The response to the model also included a significant number of first-time Toyota customers, bolstered by relatively affordable pricing that starts from RM99,900 for the ICE variant and RM109,900 for the hybrid model.
To recap, the powertrain in the ICE variant involves Toyota’s 2NR-VE engine paired with CVT, while the hybrid variant combines the 2NR-VEX engine with an electric motor to transmit power via Toyota’s eCVT transmission (it can also operate under electric-only mode). The luggage compartment still offers 471L of storage capacity through a two-level deck board and underfloor storage layout.
Customers interested in the Toyota Yaris Cross can visit authorized Toyota dealerships nationwide or access additional information through Toyota Malaysia’s official website.
Pokdepinion: Suppose that means I can see a few of these on the road in one go.
