KUALA LUMPUR - A track switch malfunction on the Kelana Jaya LRT line had caused delays in service between the Pasar Seni and Bank Rakyat-Bangsar stations towards Putra Heights today, said Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd in a statement.

Rapid Rail said that the malfunction occurred at 5.30 am. As a safety measure, the train from Pasar Seni station to Bangsar station that heads to Putra Heights was driven manually, causing slower train movement between both stations.

The public transport company said that its engineering team was on site to conduct repairs and resume operations as soon as possible.

To ensure safety and smooth commuter movement, auxiliary police and station workers have been deployed to station platforms to assist them. Additionally, regular announcements on train schedules were also made at the station.

“Commuters are advised to refer to Rapid KL’s social media pages to get the latest updates and information,” said Rapid Rail in a statement.

“Rapid Rail would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and cooperation from all users.”

In a latest statement, Rapid Rail said that repair works are still ongoing and trains will be manually operated and will move at a slower speed along the line.

“Our technical team is working tirelessly to resolve the issue. Please follow the instructions of the station staff for further assistance,” said Rapid Rail. - June 9, 2025
