A tragic incident occurred during a drinking session involving three Myanmar workers in Semenyih Hi-Tech Industrial Park, Sungai Lalang. Unfortunately, the gathering turned into a terrifying incident as one of the individuals involved lost their life following a quarrel.
The details of the event were shared by Kajang Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan. The distress call reporting an unconscious furniture factory worker was received by the police at 1.42 a.m. in response to which a patrol car and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the police observed medical professionals attending to the unconscious man, who was later pronounced dead by a medical assistant present at the location. Further examination by the police and forensics revealed a stab-like wound on the left side of the victim's abdomen.
In the initial stages of the investigation, Mohd Zaid stated that the police interviewed several eyewitnesses who provided valuable information. According to their accounts, the three workers had been consuming alcoholic drinks from late Thursday night into the following day. Witnesses mentioned that a small misunderstanding occurred, which eventually led to the victim being wounded by one of the two workers involved.
The assailant fled the scene immediately after the incident. Following the leads from the witnesses, a team of investigators successfully located the two suspects, aged 24 and 28, in Sungai Buloh and apprehended them in the early hours of the morning. A postmortem conducted at Kajang Hospital determined that the cause of death was blood loss resulting from the abdominal stab wound. Both suspects have been remanded for seven days until November 10 to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
Additionally, one of the suspects assisted the police in locating two knives believed to have been used in the tragic incident. This case is being treated as a murder investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code. The authorities will continue their thorough examination of the evidence and conduct further inquiries to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, the motive behind the attack, and to ensure that justice is served.
