SELANGOR: A grieving father has spoken out after his 17-year-old daughter died in a tragic incident at a temple in Tanjong Sepat, where a structural beam collapsed and struck her.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the teenager was reportedly helping to clean the temple when the beam, believed to weigh close to one tonne, fell on her at about 8pm on April 7.

Her father said he rushed to her side after the incident and held her as she briefly regained consciousness before succumbing to her injuries.

Expressing his grief, he questioned why such a tragedy occurred despite their family’s regular involvement in maintaining the temple, describing his daughter as a diligent and filial child.

He is now seeking answers regarding the structural integrity of the beam, while authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
