A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning along Jalan Kuala Kangsar near Klebang Restu, claiming the lives of a father and his 11-month-old daughter in a collision involving three vehicles.
According to Ipoh police chief ACP Yahaya Hassan, the accident occurred at 7:21 am. The 20-year-old father, who was driving a Proton Saga, tragically passed away at the scene, while his daughter succumbed to her injuries while being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB).
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred when the Proton Saga, attempting to cross the road from a junction, collided with a Mercedes Benz travelling from the direction of Sungai Siput to Ipoh. The impact caused the Proton Saga to lose control and collide with a Perodua Alza heading towards Klebang Restu.
Fortunately, the drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the accident escaped unharmed.
