KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister cum Industry, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said a report on the collision between a railbus and a motor trolley at KM134/4 near Pangi, Tenom, on March 3 will be presented to the Sabah Cabinet next week.

He said he had requested a report from the Sabah State Railway Department (JKNS) following the incident.

An initial investigation report has since been submitted to him and forwarded to the office of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Ewon said the findings will be tabled at the Sabah Cabinet meeting scheduled for March 11.

JKNS said it had taken note of the accident involving a rail service and a motor trolley at the Tenom–Pangi railway track.

The department has activated an internal investigation through a Board of Enquiry in accordance with existing procedures and has also lodged a police report at the Tenom police station.

JKNS said the incident did not result in any loss of life, and further action will be determined based on the Board of Enquiry’s findings under the Railway Enactment 2017.
