Sion's new Italian coach Paolo Tramezzani is backing Fiorentina to defeat West Ham United in tonight's Europa Conference League final.

Tramezzani, a former Inter Milan and Tottenham defender, was named Sion coach last month, where he has found himself working with countryman Mario Balotelli.

And the 52 year-old admits he's been impressed by the work of Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano and their run to two Cup finals this season. Ahead of tonight's clash in Prague, the Viola lost the Coppa Italia final to Champions League finalists Inter Milan.

Tramezzani says the progress of Fiorentina has been one of the big stories of the season and the way they've performed under Italiano. Italiano moved to Fiorentina last year from Spezia.

Tramezzani told Tribalfootball.com: For me, Fiorentina is the surprise of the Italian football, they returned after many years to Europe and they reached the finals of the Conference League and the Coppa Italia.

"Despite the outcome of the (Coppa Italia) final, I think it's been a very good season for the team. They have a very good coach, a coach that started from the lower divisions and has shown his qualities everywhere and every season."

Indeed, Tramezzani admits he's a big fan of Fiorentina's style of play under Italiano.

He continued: "Fiorentina plays wonderful football, they don't give the opponent a point of reference, and they play the ball very well with a clear structure and idea. Fiorentina has very talented players in the midfield, they attack you with 6-7 players, regain the ball very fast, and are also very good defensively."

As for a prediction, Tramezzani - who won the UEFA Cup with Inter - insists Fiorentina are capable of overcoming their English opponents.

He declared: "Regarding the final, it's a difficult match against a well-organised team like West Ham but I think Fiorentina has all the chances to win the game and to bring the Cup to Italy."
