Manchester United are focusing on sales after securing the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
Marcus Rashford's loan move to Barcelona is set to be announced soon, though moves for Jason Sancho and Antony have stalled.
Juventus' planned move for Sancho is on hold until sales are made, after the Italian side confirmed the permanent signing of Francisco Conceicao for around €30m. The Old Lady are said to be offering around £15m plus £10 in add-ons for the winger.
As for Antony, Betis are struggling to raise the funds to go through with a £30m purchase, though reports in Spain suggest that Atletico Madrid are also interested.
Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia are also yet to find new clubs, with the Argentine believed to be keen to stay in the Premier League and both Aston Villa and Chelsea said to be interested.
None of these players have been included in Ruben Amorim's squad for the pre-season tour of the USA.
United remain keen on signing a striker and a midfielder before the windows shuts on 1 September, and they have explored conditions for players including Nicolas Jackson and Ollie Watkins.

Chris Wilson
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe excused Alexander Isak from travelling to their friendly with Celtic to shield him from transfer speculation but is confident the striker will remain at St James’s Park.
“Alex has trained this week and is fine but we didn’t want to take the risk with him. Alex was with us all the way through Austria but, with all the speculation and things that are going on, I decided to send him home.
“It’s purely the last thing Alex wants, if he’s not playing, to be sat in the stand. Being under that scrutiny, I don’t think that’s fair to the player.
“It’s difficult for me to give 100 per cent clarity on any player. I’d never sit here and do that because it’s football and you never know what could happen.
“All I can say is that Alex is happy at Newcastle. He loves the players that he plays with, the staff, the team.”

It is not known how much Bayern will offer if they return for Diaz, though Liverpool reportedly value him at around £85m.

Chris Wilson
Nottingham Forest have been irritated with Tottenham’s approach for Morgan Gibbs-White and would prefer to sell to a rival club, reports the Daily Mail.
Spurs had activated a £60million release clause in the player’s contract but Forest believed the approach to be illegal and were considering legal action, though it is unknown if this is still the case.
Man City had previously been keen on Goibbs-White, though that potential deal has gone cold with City instead signing Rayan Cherki from Lyon.
Gibbs-White has previously refused to negotiate a new contract with the club, and it is understood he’s been open to a move to Spurs.

But former Manchester United boss Ten Hag, who has already seen Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Jonathan Tah depart since succeeding Xabi Alonso at the end of last season, is resisting the proposed move.

Liverpool transfer news: Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Jean-Philippe Mateta and more
13:17
,
Chris Wilson
Liverpool are bracing for a busy summer to build on this season’s Premier League title success.
Arne Slot orchestrated a stunning debut campaign at Anfield, inheriting a stacked squad from Jurgen Klopp before taking English football by storm to seal a record-equalling 20th top-flight crown for the club.
The summer months of 2024 hardly shaped the season that followed for Liverpool, and Slot has already proven that he doesn’t require overwhelming transfer activity to be successful. Last summer, he saw just two arrivals come through the door in the form of Giorgi Mamardashvili (who was immediately loaned back toValencia) and Federico Chiesa, who played a total of just 104 minutes in the Premier League.
But with Trent Alexander-Arnold heading for the exit and a Premier League title to defend, Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards are expected to engage in a substantial recruitment drive over the coming months.
And the early signs are extremely promising for Reds fans, with Jeremy Frimpong having signed from Bayer Leverkusen before Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez followed through the door.
Here’s everything you need to know about Liverpool’s summer transfer plans.

Chris Wilson
Italian striker Mateo Retegui has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah from Atalanta, both clubs said on Monday, with Italian media reports saying last season's Serie A top scorer has signed a four-year contract.
No financial details were released, but Italian media said that the fee paid is in the region of 65 million euros ($76.01 million) which would make Retegui the most expensive Italian player.
Retegui spent just one season at Atalanta, signing from Genoa as a replacement for the injured Gianluca Scamacca, and went on to score 25 league goals to help the club to a third-place finish.
"The Percassi family, the Pagliuca family and the entire Nerazzurri club sincerely thank Mateo for the extraordinary contribution he made last season and wish him the best for the continuation of his sporting career and for his future," the club said in a statement.
The Argentine-born Retegui qualified to play for Italy through his grandparents, and was called up by Roberto Mancini in 2023, scoring on his debut in a 2-1 defeat by England. The 26-year-old has six international goals in 20 appearances.

Arsenal’s biggest weakness is clear – here’s how Viktor Gyokeres can solve it
10:39
,
Chris Wilson
Arsenal’s history could have been very different without Harry Woods. Without him, there may have been no Herbert Chapman, no trio of league titles in the 1930s, no status as London’s biggest club.
Arsenal narrowly avoided relegation in 1923-24. They only won 12 league games that season. Woods scored in six of them. He was Arsenal’s top scorer.
He also got a mere nine league goals. Which had a renewed pertinence more than a century later when Kai Havertz emulated him: for the first time in 101 years, Arsenal had no player in double figures for league goals.

Rodrygo to Liverpool noise continues
09:54
,
Chris Wilson
Take this one with a pinch of salt, or a large dollop, but Foot Mercato in France are reporting that Liverpool have opened talks with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.
The 24-year-old winger is out of favour under Xabi Alonso and could seek a move this summer.
Quite whether the Reds would want to spend big again, following Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz’s arrivals to bolster the front line, is unclear.
While Rodrygo’s wages will likely make him one of the highest earners at Anfield, which could prove problematic.
L’Equipe also detailed how Rodrygo would “without a doubt” replace Luis Diaz, should the Colombian international leave this summer. Watch this space, I suppose.

Marcus Rashford finally has his Barcelona move but Man United have paid a heavy price for saga
09:26
,
Chris Wilson
There is a history of Manchester United turnarounds at the Nou Camp. Now there may be another. A player who, six months ago, was not even granted a place on the bench for the team who went on to finish 15th in the Premier League, is now being unveiled as Barcelona’s new signing. For Marcus Rashford, it feels quite a comeback.
He may go from Ruben Amorim’s bomb squad to Hansi Flick’s bench. He might only be plan C after Nico Williams performed a U-turn to stay at Athletic Bilbao and Liverpool rebuffed an approach for Luis Diaz. As Flick’s forward line consists of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, Rashford could yet spend much of his time watching on.

More from ten Hag here:
"The agent can say anything. But this club has already lost three important players," Ten Hag told German media on Tuesday.
"We won't let any more players go, that's not possible. That would neglect the structure and also the culture of the squad.
"It's clear Granit is a leader, he has signed here for five years and has three years left on his contract. He's too important for us to let him go."

Former Arsenal man Xhaka has been linked with a move to Sunderland, with his agent telling German media the 32-year-old Switzerland skipper has an agreement in principle with the newly-promoted Premier League club.

He has made 99 appearances for Leverkusen, scoring six goals and registering nine assists.
