Kota Kinabalu: Head of State Tun Musa Aman paid tribute to the families of security personnel who perished during the Op Daulat incident in March 2013 at Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu.
Among those he met were the family members of the late Sgt Sabaruddin Daud, including his wife, Nurunnisa Abu Bakar, and their two children, Noor Muhammad Aqil Zulkifli and Noor Aqib Syahid Zulkifli, who were present during the courtesy session.
He also met the family of the late Assistant Superintendent Zulkifli Mamat, namely his wife, Noor Aziah Noor, and their children, Haziqah Zuhairah Sabaruddin and Hazreq Zafri Sabaruddin.

The meeting took place during the 2025 Sabah-level Warriors’ Day celebration held at the parade ground of the Sabah Police Headquarters (IPK) where he earlier inspected the main guard-of-honour comprising 102 senior police officers and personnel from the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters, led by Police Deputy Superintendent Akmal Nashreq Abd Malik and Assistant Parade Officer, Police Assistant Superintendent Sallihan Lem Matin.
This was followed by the sounding of the Last Post and a prayer recital to honour fallen national heroes, before a march-past involving 13 Malaysian Armed Forces veterans and 20 retirees from the Royal Malaysia Police, along with a choir performance by members of the Police Family Association (Perkep) and Armed Forces Family Welfare Body (Bakat).
The celebration continued with a pantomime titled Tanduo Titisan Darah Di Bumi Merdeka as a tribute to the security forces who perished in the 2013 Tanduo intrusion, followed by a poetry recital Mekar Di Hati Pahlawanku.
Musa also visited the Sabah Police Museum and a safety exhibition, accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.
Jauteh said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and City Hall (DBKK) co-organised the celebration, and extended his appreciation to all parties involved in making the event a success.
Warriors’ Day is observed annually on July 31 to commemorate the sacrifices of the nation’s security forces.
