
LAHAD DATU: Three men were arrested in separate anti-drug operations carried out by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division, Thursday.
District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail, said the first suspect, a 45-year-old Filipino man, was detained at around 3.30pm in the Reno Fajar area.
He was found with 0.22 grammes of syabu hidden inside a cigarette box and also tested positive for drug use.
Later the same day, two local men, both aged 23, were arrested near a restaurant at Jalan Dam.
Urine tests showed both suspects were positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
“All three suspects are currently remanded for further investigation under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” said Dzulbaharin.
He added that the operations reflect the Lahad Datu Police’s ongoing commitment to combating drug-related activities in the district.
