
THREE individuals connected to GISB Holdings were charged in the Kota Tinggi sessions court here today with human trafficking and physical sexual assault.
Two of them, Mahmad Hamal Tukiman, 57, and Rabiahtul Adawiyah Md Shash, 31, pleaded not guilty to four counts of trafficking people for forced labour before judge Hayda Faridzal Abu Hasan.
The duo, who are believed to be managers of a resort run by GISBH in Pengerang, were charged along with three others still at large.
The alleged crimes took place between August and October 2023 at Ikhwan Resort, Johor. Both denied the charges.
Muhammad Ansarullah Tukino, 20, who is a worker at the resort, was charged with two counts of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy.
All of the accused pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to them before Sessions Court judge Hayda Faridzal Abu Hasan.
The court allowed each of them to be released on bail of RM40,000 with two sureties. They were also ordered to surrender their passports and report to the nearest police station every month.
The case is set for mention on Nov 27.
Meanwhile, resort worker Muhammad Ansarullah pleaded not guilty to two counts of physical sexual assault against a 16-year-old boy.
He was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries up to 20 years' imprisonment and whipping.
The court granted him RM10,000 bail with conditions, including surrendering his passport and regular police reporting. Both cases are set for mention in late November for document submission. - October 13, 2024
