Newcastle United fullback Kieran Trippier has revisited his on-off January move to Bayern Munich.
Trippier saw Bayern fail with multiple offers for the England international.
He later told AS: "I never would have thought that they wanted to sign me at my age, so for me it's a compliment that they were interested in buying me.
"It was crazy. I was in New York and they woke me up at five in the morning telling me that Bayern wanted to sign me.
"Many other players would have taken the opportunity to sign for Bayern, but I remained loyal to the club and to my family."
