Tropical Cyclone Luis, southwest monsoon to dump more rain

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Luis and the southwest monsoon are expected to bring heavy rain in several areas in Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

In its 5 p.m. weather update, Pagasa said Pangasinan, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, and Quezon may experience heavy rainfall of up to 50 to 100 millimeters from Sunday until Monday afternoon due to Tropical Cyclone Luis.

La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal may also experience the same amount of rain from Monday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Occidental Mindoro will have moderate to heavy rain due to the southwest monsoon, while Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro may experience heavy to intense rainfall from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon.
