
LAHAD DATU: Marine police foiled an attempt to misappropriate 4,600 litres of subsidised diesel at a fuel station in Batu 8, Jalan Silam, here, on Friday.
The diesel in 23 blue plastic drums was found on a dump truck by enforcement officers in the 7.30pm operation.
Sabah Marine Police (Region Four) Commander ACP Ahmad Ariffin said the operation was carried out following intelligence and monitoring of subsidised fuel misappropriation activities in the district.
“The truck was found carrying 4,600 litres of diesel without any documents. A man, believed to be the truck driver, was detained along with the truck for further action,” he said.

The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
