- President Donald Trump called into Fox News to discuss the tremendous loss his party experienced Tuesday night in the midterms.
- Speaking by phone and occasionally slurring his words, the president deflected blame for his party’s losses onto lackluster Republican candidates, some of whom lost even in GOP strongholds such as Texas and South Carolina.
- "I'm a little bit surprised. I thought they'd do better,” Trump said.
- “I felt badly about Darline [Graham]. I felt very badly. She's going through, you know, her relationship with Lindsey [Graham] was extraordinary. It's just she's essentially mourning and campaigning at the same time, and then on top of it, this happens,” Trump said about Graham losing to Annie Andrews.
- When asked by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum how he plans to approach working with Democrats after they took back the House and Senate, Trump said, “The power of veto is one of the stronger powers that a president has, and they'll send over things that are insane, and I'll veto them.”
