Donald Trump has claimed he would have “no trouble” becoming an astronaut during an Oval Office meeting to honor the Artemis II lunar mission crew on Wednesday (29 April).

The president delivered remarks to honor the NASA crew that traveled to the Moon for the first time since the Nixon administration.

After praising the astronauts’ “unbelievable courage,” Trump said: “To get in there you have to be very smart, you have to do a lot of things physically good, so I would have had no trouble making it... Maybe a little bit of a problem... We’ll have to try it sometime. Is a president allowed to go up in one of these missions?”
