- US President Donald Trump says he left instructions for Iran to be bombed at unprecedented levels if he were to be assassinated.
- “I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with,” Trump told The New York Post. “I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”
- Trump’s remarks come after he said earlier this week that he is “No. 1” on Iran’s kill list and has been a target of Iran for a long time.
- "I hope you'll miss me," he added in the interview with The Post while also addressing reports that Israel made him aware of an Iranian plot to kill him. Trump said, “No, no. Israel came up with nothing.”
- He said Friday that the US has agreed to resume talks with Iran to end the war but that the ceasefire “is OVER.” The war reignited this week with US military conducted two consecutive nights of strikes against Iranian islands, ports, and infrastructure after Iran attacked three ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
