President Donald Trump’s public breakup with Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, formerly one of his most loyal allies, comes as a House vote looms over whether to release the Epstein files.
Greene has this weekend expressed fears for her safety after the President deemed her a “traitor” for supporting an effort to release the remaining files over the disgraced financier.
“I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fuelled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” Greene wrote on X on Saturday.
The president has revoked his support for Greene, calling her “another FAKE politician”.
It comes after Greene doubled down on her support for a House vote, expected next week, that could compel the White House to release the remainder of the Epstein files.
She was one of only four Republicans who joined Democrats in signing a petition to force a vote on releasing the full files on the sex offender.

Failing to back the release of Epstein files in House vote will be met with 'outrage', MTG warns
12:45 , Amy-Clare MartinRep. Marjorie Taylor Greene warned her Republican colleagues that voting against the release the remainder of the Epstein files could hurt them.
“You vote NO on Tuesday to release the Epstein files and face severe outrage from America,” Greene wrote in response to a post from Rep. Troy Nehls, who said he would not vote with Democrats to force the release.
“Republicans don’t have support from women and this right here is a perfect example of why.”
Nehls’s announcement was flooded with replies from people upset about his decision to vote ‘no.’

From ‘future star’ to ‘traitor’: How Trump’s MAGA warrior Marjorie Taylor Greene lost the president

For a while, it seemed like far-right congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene might the one who bucked the trend, but now it seems her time has come, too.

Here’s how their relationship came to an end.

A House vote looms over the Epstein files – which other Republicans backed it?
11:15 , Amy-Clare MartinOn the same day the government reopened after 43-day shutdown, a petition supported by all House Democrats and four Republicans got the final signature needed for a vote on a bill to compel the Justice Department to release all files related to Epstein.
High-level Trump aides failed to convince Representative Lauren Boebert to take her name off the Epstein petition, going so far as to meet with her in the Situation Room, a White House space typically used for pressing national security matters, Reuters reports.
Republican Representative Nancy Mace, another Trump loyalist, also did not budge in her support for the petition. A source familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity said that when Mace and Trump were unable to connect by phone, she wrote a message to the president that referenced her experience as a sexual assault survivor.
The recalcitrance of Boebert and Mace, members of a Republican congressional conference that has shown almost complete obedience to Trump, suggests the president will have to navigate internal dissent carefully to ensure the Epstein saga does not fracture his party heading into the midterm elections.
Does Trump’s explosive fallout with MTG signal deeper rifts in the MAGA movement?
10:46 , Amy-Clare MartinAn alliance between Donald Trump and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has dramatically fractured, escalating into an explosive feud that could signal deeper rifts within his 'Make America Great Again' movement ahead of next year's midterm elections:

'I am hiding almost nothing': SNL roasts Trump over ongoing Epstein saga
04:43 , Josh MarcusTonight’s Saturday Night Live cold open began with a question the White House is probably also asking itself: “Can we please move off the topic of Epstein?”
During the sketch, set in the White House press briefing room, Ashley Padilla as Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fends off increasingly pointed questions about Epstein and the president, until James Austin Johnson jumps in as Trump himself to answer.
“I am hiding almost nothing, just enough to make it extremely suspicious,” he says, before offering to sell the Epstein files as an $800 “stocking stuffer.”
The sketch also plays up Trump’s repeated insistence he wasn’t that close to Epstein.
“Jeffrey Epstein, I barely knew the guy, as evidenced by the thousands of pictures of us together dancing and grinding our teeth together at various parties, always leering and pointing at something just off camera, probably a book we’re excited to read,” he says.
The sketch concludes with Trump pardoning a turkey who is, Trump says, “by complete coincidence,” a sex offender.

02:49 , Josh MarcusFew allies can remain in Donald Trump’s good graces forever.
Just ask his former lawyer-turned-critic Michael Cohen; or his first-term vice president Mike Pence, targeted by members of the January 6 mob who called for his hanging; or the president’s on-again, off-again “first buddy” Elon Musk, with whom Trump waged a very public online flamewar this summer over Jeffrey Epstein.

MAGA criticizes Trump for using death of Thomas Massie's wife to criticize him
Saturday 15 November 2025 22:00 , Rhian LubinPresident Donald Trump gloated over news that Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has remarried after the death of his first wife last year — which proved a step too far for some of his MAGA loyalists.
“Did Thomas Massie, sometimes referred to as Rand Paul Jr., because of the fact that he always votes against the Republican Party, get married already??? Boy, that was quick!” Trump said in a post Friday on Truth Social.
“No wonder the Polls have him at less than an 8% chance of winning the Election,” Trump continued. “Anyway, have a great life Thomas and (?). His wife will soon find out that she’s stuck with a LOSER!”
Trump was called out by some of his own MAGA faithful, including his former attorney Jenna Ellis, who was among those who falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.
Ellis accused Trump of “political mud-slinging” and publicly denounced his remarks about Massie’s new wife.
Conservative commentator Rebekah Worsham, whose X account “the Patriotic Blonde” has more than 100,000 followers, sarcastically mocked Trump for his comment about Massie.
Trump defends his tariffs after rollbacks on coffee, beef and fruit
Saturday 15 November 2025 21:20 , Josh MarcusPresident Trump defended his tariffs on Friday, even as the White House announced it was rolling back levies on coffee, tropical fruit, spices, beef and other foodstuffs in part to bring down elevated prices.
“We’ve all suffered from the Biden prices, which were much higher than they are right now, but I’ll be able get them down even lower, at least a little bit lower, possibly, in some cases, a lot lower,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One, before falsely claiming the U.S. currently has “virtually no inflation.”
The president has signed an executive order exempting the goods from the “reciprocal” tariffs he put on most U.S. trading partners earlier this year.
The White House earlier Friday said the tariff reversal followed “substantial progress” in trade negotiations with foreign nations, while reflecting “current domestic demand for certain products, and current domestic capacity to produce certain products.”

Trump grants second pardon to Jan 6 rioter who had discussed seizing DC in ‘civil war’
Saturday 15 November 2025 18:10 , Ariana BaioFor the second time this year, Dan Edwin Wilson, a former January 6 defendant and member of the far-right group the Oath Keepers, received a pardon from President Donald Trump – this time to wipe two possession of an unregistered firearm charges.
Wilson, 50, was among the nearly 1,600 people who received a day-one pardon from the president for their role in the attack on the Capitol. He had been charged with conspiracy to impede or injure an officer at the Capitol.
But he also received separate charges of possession of an unregistered firearm in Kentucky – which were brought after law enforcement officials investigating his role in January 6 executed a search warrant on Wilson’s home.
A judge overseeing the firearm possession charges case refused to extend Trump’s January 6 pardon to cover those counts – leading Trump to make a second act of clemency Friday, first reported by Politico.
A White House official said in a statement that Trump chose to pardon Wilson again because “the search of Mr. Wilson’s home was due to the events of January 6.”
Greene says she’s receiving ‘threats’ after Trump’s criticisms
Saturday 15 November 2025 17:41 , Ariana BaioMarjorie Taylor Greene said she had received security threats after Trump called her a “traitor” on social media for pushing to have the White House release the remainder of the Epstein files.

“The man I supported and helped get elected,” she added.
Greene said it was “completely shocking” to receive threats from Trump's “radical internet trolls,” given her record of supporting the president. She accused many of the internet trolls of being “paid” – though she did not elaborate about who she believes is paying them.
The Georgia representative said Trump’s “aggression” toward her “fuels” people to make angry remarks
“I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel,” Greene added.

Saturday 15 November 2025 15:58 , Ariana BaioPresident Donald Trump has often leaned on the word “traitor” to insult his political foes and vilify them to the Republican Party – he recently invoked it to denounce his former ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Greene joins the club of many other individuals and entire groups whom Trump has deemed committed treason.
Individuals include:
- Senator Adam Schiff, a Democrat
- Chelsea Manning, a whistleblower
- Edward Snowden, a whistleblower
- James Comey, former FBI director in the first Trump administration
- Peter Strzok, former special agent in the FBI during the first Trump administration
- Andrew McCabe, former FBI deputy director during the first Trump administration
- Miles Taylor, the former chief of staff for Homeland Security during the first Trump administration
The president has also accused former President Barack Obama and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley of “treason.”
Trump has also deemed most Democrats “treasonous” and suggested the “fake news” committed treason by reporting on the Russia investigation into the 2016 election.
Greene calls for 'a new way forward' after Trump's attacks
Saturday 15 November 2025 15:26 , Ariana BaioAfter facing a barrage of anger from Trump, Greene took to X to call for “a new way forward” that puts America First.
“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” Greene said Saturday morning.
“There needs to be a new way forward. The toxic political industrial complex thrives on ripping us all apart but never delivers anything good for the American people, whom I love,” she added.

Saturday 15 November 2025 14:15 , Amy-Clare MartinPresident Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw his support for MAGA firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene comes amid a growing rift between the former allies.
Speaking during a swearing-in ceremony for U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Monday, Trump said: “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie.”
Trump was asked about Greene’s recent comments to Axios in which she panned what she called his “America Last” focus on foreign policy and the government shutdown.
At one point in the interview, she complained about “revolving door at the White House of foreign leaders” whilst Americans are “screaming from their lungs” about high prices.
In response, Trump told reporters: “I don't know what happened to Marjorie.

The Independent has reviewed what they say about Trump:

Analysis: The specter of Epstein continues to cause trouble for Trump
Saturday 15 November 2025 11:52 , Amy-Clare MartinSome of Trump's most loyal supporters believe the government is withholding sensitive documents about Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died by suicide in jail in 2019, that would reveal his ties to powerful public figures.
A handful of Republicans have broken ranks to join Democrats seeking a full documents release, drawing a rebuke from Trump, who called them "soft and foolish."
"I think the hope was that it would die down and go away, and that was never going to be the case," Republican strategist Terry Sullivan, who headed Secretary of State Marco Rubio's 2016 presidential campaign, told Reuters.
"It's an impossible issue to handle effectively," he added. "It's impossible to prove a negative. If he (Trump) didn't know anything, how do you prove it?"
Pia Carusone, a Democratic strategist and partner at political consultancy SKDK, said the spectre of Epstein could depress Republican turnout in the 2026 midterm elections if new revelations keep dripping out.
While Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing related to the wealthy financier, he has faced a backlash from supporters over his administration's refusal to disclose all Epstein-related investigative files.
Trump has repeatedly denied any knowledge of Epstein's alleged abuse and sex trafficking of underage girls.

How the Trump-Greene MAGA rift unfolded
Saturday 15 November 2025 11:19 , Amy-Clare MartinGreene, a member of the House of Representatives, has long been a fierce defender of Trump but in recent weeks she has taken positions at odds with the White House and some of her fellow Republicans.
In recent weeks she has also called Trump's rollout of trade tariffs "bumpy" and criticised his foreign policy focus, saying she wants him to prioritise domestic issues. Greene has also disagreed with Trump's contention that inflation is under control and has said Republicans need a plan to address healthcare costs.
Earlier this year she became the first Republican lawmaker to label the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as genocide.
Greene has dismissed speculation that she is positioning herself for a 2028 presidential bid, saying she is focused on her district in the northwest corner of the state.
Recap: Everything you need to know about the latest Epstein controversy
Saturday 15 November 2025 11:06 , Amy-Clare Martin- Earlier this week Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released bombshell emails from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, reigniting the controversy over the Trump administration’s handling of government documents relating to the late convicted sex offender.
- Many of the emails mention Trump, who was friends with the disgraced financier decades ago, including one in which Epstein claimed the president “knew about the girls.”
- Trump told reporters Friday night he “knows nothing” about the emails.
- Also Friday, Attorney General Pam Bondi assigned a prosecutor to lead the investigation into prominent Democrats’ ties to Epstein after Trump directed her to launch the probe.
How did Marjorie Taylor Greene respond?
Saturday 15 November 2025 10:58 , Amy-Clare MartinGreene, who has largely avoided criticising Trump directly, responded to the attack by posting on X that President Trump "just attacked me and lied about me."
She suggested he may have been responding to her efforts to get his administration to release more files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump has dismissed the furore over the Epstein case as a "hoax" pushed by Democrats.
Greene accused Trump of trying to intimidate other Republicans ahead of a vote next week on releasing the Epstein files, calling it “astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level.”
It comes after Greene was one of only four House Republicans who joined Democrats in signing a petition to force a vote on releasing the full Department of Justice files related to Epstein.
