Just because trump is saying that we "raped and plundered" him, and he is going to leave us if we don't treat him right, it doesn't mean he is actually going to leave us alone.
He probably just is feigning saying that he wants a divorce, because he thinks we can't live without him - that without Taylor Swift and Coca Cola, our life will have no meaning or purpose.
Once he realizes that if living without Coca Cola or Taylor Swift is the price that we have to pay to not have to wake up to him everyday, we will pay it a thousand time over, he is going to realise that we might not need him more than he needs us - that it is actually he that need us much more than he realizes - that It is he, not us, that will find it difficult to be him, if we are not around.
When that happens, I doubt that Trump will come crawling back to us, to tell us that he has changed and beg us to take him back.
America is way too proud for that.
Rather than do that, it is more apt to burn our house and harm our dog, to let us know that unless we come running back to him, what happened to our house and dog will happen to everything we cherish.
A parasite doesn't stick close to its host for the sake of its host.
Regardless of what the gangster says, it is not because the gangster wishes to protect the neighborhood that the gangster stays close to the neighborhood.

After the shock of his tariff wears off, we are going to realise that we are actually happier that Trump decided to leave us and happily change the keys after he walks out, so that he will not sneak back in once he realizes his mistake.
The problem however, is that Trump is not going to be happy that we did not come running after him, and he is too big a fella that he is going to cause a lot of trouble if he doesn't get what he wants.
