  • Trump gushed about the King’s “elegance” and how his mother had a crush on Charles as a young prince before addressing his own marriage to the first lady.
  • Speaking about his parents, Trump said: “My mother and Fred, they were married for 63 years.” He then said to Melania, “That’s a record we won’t be able to match, darling. I’m sorry, it’s just not going to work out that way. We’ll do well, but we’re not going to do that well.”
  • Reflecting on his mother Mary Macleod Trump, Trump said: “I also remember her saying very clearly, Charles, look young. Charles. He's so cute.”
