Trump risks awkward run-in at event after boycotting it for years

  • President Donald Trump is set to attend this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner, breaking a decade-long boycott dating back to 2015.
  • He announced on Truth Social in March that he will attend the April 25 event, having decided that members of the press corps “now admit that I am truly one of the Greatest Presidents in the History of our Country, the G.O.A.T., according to many.”
  • But it could get awkward as The Wall Street Journal will receive the Katharine Graham Award for Courage and Accountability for its July 2025 story about Trump allegedly sending a “bawdy” birthday card doodle to Jeffrey Epstein.
  • On Monday, a federal judge dismissed Trump's $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal over the same story.
