US President Donald Trump has said a deal with Iran is complete, after mediator Pakistan announced that the United States and Iran had reached a peace agreement.
"Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED," Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X.
"Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon," Sharif said.
Shortly afterwards, Trump said that a peace agreement with Iran was "complete."
"I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade," the US president wrote on his Truth Social platform.
The official signing ceremony is to take place in Switzerland on Friday, according to Sharif.
