White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced the birth of her second child.

"On May 1st, Viviana aka “Vivi” joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love," Leavitt wrote on X on Thursday.

"She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister. We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble."

The 28-year-old shared a photo showing her holding the newborn in a pastel pink nursery. Visible in the background were children’s books, including titles such as “Her First Bible,” “Handbags A–Z,” and language-learning books about Washington, alongside a framed wedding photo adorned with a pink ribbon.

The scene underscores the image Leavitt cultivates on social media: religious, family-oriented and style-conscious, with strong ties to Washington’s political world.

Leavitt thanked those who had prayed for her during her pregnancy: "I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good."

Leavitt has long presented herself as a model US conservative balancing family and career, regularly sharing images of her young son Nicholas at the White House or of team prayers ahead of press briefings.

She is considered one of Trump’s most loyal allies. She worked in the White House during his first term and later strongly defended his baseless claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential vote.

As press secretary, she has gained a reputation for her combative approach toward critical media outlets, at times dismissing reporters’ questions as “stupid” or reacting sharply to follow-ups.

At the same time, Leavitt has expanded access for pro-Trump influencers and right-wing online media at the White House, often allowing selected “new media” outlets to ask the first question at briefings — frequently in a tone supportive of Trump and his administration.

She returned early from maternity leave just three days after the birth of her first child following an assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.

"The president literally put his life on the line to win this election. The least I could do is get back to work quickly," she said.
