President Donald Trump embarked on another Truth Social tear-up late Monday, posting more than 50 times in the dead of night about his political enemies, particularly Barack Obama.
Ahead of his trip to China to meet with president Xi Jinping, and with the Iran war ceasefire hanging in the balance, the president again rehashed a series of long-running grievances on social media.
Amid the flurry of conspiracy-minded messages he reposted from followers were baseless accusations that Obama had been involved in a “coup plot” by ordering the intelligence community to spy on him during his 2016 presidential run, that he ordered his Department of Justice not to prosecute Hillary Clinton after her emails were leaked, and that he had profited illegally from the Affordable Care Act.
One of his “retruths” even referred to the 44th president as “the most DEMONIC FORCE in American politics in decades.”
Former FBI director James Comey, special counsel Jack Smith and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly were variously accused of treason and illicit acts and subjected to calls for their imprisonment.
Trump also reposted TikTok clips of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard appearing on a podcast and claiming that his predecessor Joe Biden was so infirm during his time in the Oval Office that his deputy, Kamala Harris, had operated as the real “power behind the throne.”
The original poster of the Gabbard clip denounced Biden and Harris as “forever-war profiteers”. Trump returned to office promising conservatives an end to such conflicts, only to then drag the U.S. into another in Iran, with whom peace talks continue to stagger on amid acrimony on both sides.
Trump again revived false claims that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen,”quoting his disgraced first national security adviser turned QAnon celebrity Gen. Mike Flynn. Clips of other figures including the recently hospitalised Rudy Giuliani and attorney Sidney Powell were also posted to support the case.

There was even a message from a “verified” account for John F Kennedy Jr saying the alleged wiretapping of Trump Tower a decade ago was a worse crime than Watergate, despite JFK Jr having died in 1999.
Away from the overtly political, there were posts about a viral video of a customer allegedly disrespecting a waitress in a Miami restaurant.
The president’s last post in the flurry was a lengthy message in his own words, attacking another favorite target, The New York Times. Trump claimed the newspaper was “losing subscribers on an hourly basis,” over its reporting on his renovation of the Reflecting Pool that lies before the Washington Monument in D.C.
Trump lashed out at the newspaper for “trying to justify Obama and Biden’s expensively botched attempt at fixing the long broken, unsightly, and unsanitary Reflecting Pool.”
He said the site had been allowed to fall into disrepair and stood as a “leaking, smelling, ode to both of their failed Administrations”.
The president called out the NYT reporter responsible for describing the restoration work as “just a paint job” arguing it was “a deeply complicated work of smart and beautiful construction.”
