Donald Trump was interrupted by a heckler during a campaign rally in North Carolina whilst supporting Republican Senate candidate Michael Whatley on Wednesday (16 September).
The president mocked the protester as she was escorted out of the event, saying she was “going home to mama” and claiming the woman’s mother would be “furious” with her.
Trump was campaigning for Senate candidate Michael Whatley, who will go up against former Democratic Governor Roy Cooper this fall.
