- Argentine President Javier Milei warned his country would defend its claim to the islands with “tooth and nail” and announced a national broadcast on the issue.
- Downing Street said that the UK’s position on the Falklands is long-standing and unwavering, citing a 2013 referendum where 99.8 per cent voted to remain a British overseas territory.
