- US Central Command forces conducted strikes against Iran Friday in response to an attack on a commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier.
- Iran had attacked a Singapore-flagged cargo ship, M/V Ever Lovely, with a one-way attack drone. Trump said Iran shot at least four drones at ships transversing the strait.
- “One of the drones solidly hit the upper deck of a large and very expensive cargo carrying ship,” he said. “Damage was done, but the ship was able to proceed on its way. We knocked down three other drones. obviously, this is a foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement.”
- The commercial vessel was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast when it was targeted by Iran. In retaliation, US aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, alongside coastal radar sites.
- CENTCOM condemned Iran's actions as a violation of the ceasefire and an undermining of freedom of navigation, affirming continued US vigilance in the vital trade corridor.
