- President Donald Trump says the United States is going to strike Iran "very hard" on Wednesday if a peace deal isn’t finalized.
- "We're going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard, resuming bombing," Trump told reporters at an Oval Office bill signing, citing Iran's downing of an Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz.
- The president continued, “We'll see what happens, but we hit him hard yesterday, and we're going to hit them again hard today, in case you miss it, in case you don't turn on your television set, and we'll see what happens with the deal.”
- Trump said that Iran has already agreed it won’t obtain a nuclear weapon but the deal still needs to be signed.
- “We're really close to a deal, but they keep tapping us along,” Trump said. “They keep playing us for suckers, because you know what, they dealt with some very stupid presidents, I have to say that I'm embarrassed to say some very stupid people were sitting there.”
