US President Donald Trump says Israel is complying with the Gaza ceasefire plan and warns Hamas there will be consequences if it does not disarm.
PALM BEACH: US President Donald Trump warned Hamas would face severe consequences if it fails to disarm as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Trump stated Israel is fully complying with the terms of the deal brokered to end the conflict.
“If they don’t disarm as they agreed to do, then there will be hell to pay for them,” Trump said during a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The US president emphasised that the disarmament must occur within a short timeframe.
He publicly endorsed Netanyahu’s firm stance on progressing to the next phase of the ceasefire plan.
“I’m not concerned about anything that Israel’s doing,” Trump told reporters.
“I’m concerned about what other people are doing or maybe aren’t doing. But I’m not concerned. They’ve lived up to the plan.”
