President Trump threatens to hit Iran “twenty times harder” if it disrupts oil shipments through the critical Strait of Hormuz.

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Monday. He threatened a massive military escalation if Tehran moved to block oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,” Trump wrote on social media.

He added that US forces would target easily destroyable assets. This action would make it “virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again,” he stated.

Trump concluded his post with a dire warning of “Death, Fire, and Fury”. He added, however, that he hoped and prayed such a scenario would not occur.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow maritime chokepoint. Approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil passes through it from Middle Eastern producers.
